The invention relates to the technical field of ship lock structures in water transportation engineering, in particular to a high-water-head zero-water-consumption ship lock and an operation method. Comprising a lock chamber, a plurality of water-saving pools, a water-gas exchange bin, a gas storage bin and a high-pressure gas pump, the water-saving pools communicate with the lock chamber through a first communicating pipeline structure capable of controlling connection and disconnection, and the water-saving pools are sequentially arranged in the vertical direction; the water-gas exchange bin communicates with the lock chamber through a second communicating pipeline capable of controlling on-off. The gas storage bin communicates with the water-gas exchange bin through a pressure pipeline structure capable of controlling on-off, and the gas storage bin stores high-pressure gas and is used for discharging water in the water-gas exchange bin into the lock chamber. A first pipeline and a second pipeline are arranged on the high-pressure air pump; the first pipeline is communicated with the high-pressure air pump and the air storage bin; and the second pipeline is communicated with the high-pressure air pump and the water-gas exchange bin. The ship lock is simple in structure, extremely low in requirement for equipment and capable of achieving zero water consumption.
