The invention relates to the technical field of chemical product production and processing, and particularly discloses a calcium oxide production process which comprises the following steps: step 1, separately crushing stones and coal, and then separately screening; step 2, mixing the sieved stone and coal according to a ratio, adding the mixture into a kiln, and controlling the air pressure in the kiln to be 7-8KPa; and 3, firing the mixture in the kiln for 16-18 hours, firing the mixture in the kiln in a layered manner, and discharging the mixture layer by layer. The particle size range of the coal material is 1-3 cm, and the particle size range of the stone material is 3-9 cm. The ratio of the coal material to the stone material is (1: 0.8)-(1: 0.85). The invention aims to solve the problem that the quality of a calcium oxide product is influenced by the phenomenon of underburning or overburning easily occurring in the calcining process in the conventional calcium oxide production process.
