The invention discloses an automatic positioning and material taking device and a wall building robot. The automatic positioning and material taking device comprises a base frame, a conveying module, a partition module, a displacement adjusting module, a lifting module and a clamping jaw module. The conveying module is used for bearing and conveying brick materials; the blocking module can move to form a blocking part for blocking brick materials from moving or a blocking part for movably releasing the blocking part; the displacement adjusting module is used for driving the brick materials to move so as to adjust the positions of the brick materials in the conveying direction of the conveying module. The lifting module is used for driving the brick materials to move upwards to leave the surface of the conveying module; the clamping jaw module can grab the lifted brick materials so as to take the materials. By means of the design, the simple positioning process is achieved, arrangement of sensing devices can be reduced, cost is saved, brick materials to be grabbed are separated, independent grabbing is achieved, blocking of other objects is avoided, the brick material grabbing accuracy is ensured, and then the wall building quality is improved.
