Provided are: a window material or a light-transmitting roof material which can autonomously change white turbidity in accordance with temperature, has an uncomplicated structure, and is easy to manufacture; a building provided with the window material and/or the light-transmitting roof material; and a vehicle, a ship, or an aircraft. This window material or light-transmitting roof material is provided with at least one light-transmitting substrate layer and at least one adhesive layer, the adhesive layer comprising an adhesive composition containing 1-100 parts by mass of temperature-sensitive fine particles having a refractive index that decreases as the temperature increases, with respect to 100 parts by mass of an adhesive. The refractive index reduction rate of the thermo-sensitive microparticles, which is the reduction amount of the refractive index per 1 DEG C, is greater in the vicinity of the melting point of the thermo-sensitive microparticles than in a temperature region other than in the vicinity of the melting point of the thermo-sensitive microparticles.
