The invention provides a method for preparing a foamed ceramic filter from waste chrome corundum, and relates to the field of foamed ceramics. The method comprises the following steps: grinding the waste chrome corundum, and screening by a 200-mesh sieve to obtain screen underflow; mixing the first raw materials, sintering, and then cooling and crushing to obtain first powder; the first raw material is prepared from 95 to 97 percent of screen underflow, 1 to 2 percent of nano lanthanum oxide, 1 to 2 percent of nano cerium oxide, 0.5 to 1 percent of sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate and 0.1 to 0.5 percent of K4Sb2O7; mixing the second raw materials, adding water and stirring to obtain slurry; the second raw material comprises 50-70% of first powder, 20-40% of aluminum oxide, 5-10% of zirconium oxide, 1-5% of an isothiazolinone derivative and 1-5% of ammonium carbonate; dipping the carrier in the slurry, extruding and drying to obtain a blank; sintering and cooling the blank to obtain the foamed ceramic filter. According to the method provided by the invention, the foamed ceramic filter can be prepared from the waste chrome corundum.
