Syphon
A syphon for a cistern flush with an up-leg 21 and down-leg 22 connected by a spillover 6 or bridge shaped portion which is shaped internally so that water flows into the down-leg in a uniform manner and it also has a flushing means. The spillover may be shaped so that the sides converge to join the sides of the down-leg and the roof may have baffles to direct the flow and there may be a primary lateral baffle. The up-leg may be larger than the down-leg or have a greater cross-sectional area and have a non-circular cross section. The down-leg may narrow to a neck and then widen to a lower section. The spillover may have a flat sloping base 60 and may have a cap which contains the primary baffle. A spillover cap and a computer simulation element which is embodiment of the syphon is also disclosed.
