Syphon
Syphon flush system with fixed priming diaphram piston and telescopically moveable syphon bell / tube structure for discharging water from a toilet cistern. The syphon has a downleg 2, an upleg 3 surrounding the downleg and priming means, preferable fixed piston structure 4 with flexible diaphragm 41, between the upleg and the downleg. The upleg has a non-round, enlarged open end 30 for receiving a flow of water Fw into a space between the legs, and a flat closed end 31 for redirecting the flow of water into the downleg inlet. In use, the upleg is telescopically moved downwards relative to the downleg to a flush position, reducing the volume within the upleg above the fixed piston, such that the piston causes a water level between the legs to rise and flow over the downleg inlet to initiate a syphonic action. Fins 24 space a conduit portion 33 of the upleg portion from an outer surface 25 of the downleg, creating flow passages between the legs from the enlarged lower chamber 32. Also claimed is a method of use. The system does not require a typical moveable piston with a sliding piston rod.
