RADIOACTIVE CESIUM REMOVAL METHOD AND BURNED PRODUCT MANUFACTURING METHOD
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily and efficiently removing radioactive cesium from waste disposal contaminated with radioactive cesium.SOLUTION: A radioactive cesium removal method includes a heating process in which waste disposal contaminated with radioactive cesium and a CaO source and/or MgO source are heated at 1200 to 1350°C, thereby vaporizing radioactive cesium in the waste disposal. The radioactive cesium removal method determines the types of the waste disposal, CaO source, and MgO source and blending proportions such that, in the heating process, for the respective masses of CaO, MgO, and SiO, values derived from ((CaO+1.39×MgO)/SiO)(in the formula, CaO, MgO, SiOrepresent the mass of the conversion of an oxide of a calcium, the mass of the conversion of an oxide of magnesium, and the mass of conversion of an oxide of silicon, respectively)) are larger than 1.9 but equal to or smaller than 2.5.SELECTED DRAWING: None
