To provide a linear body installation device and a linear body installation method which install a linear body in an underground with high accuracy in a spiral state.SOLUTION: A linear body installation device 100 comprises: a winch 10 feeding a pipe 2 to an underground in its shaft direction; a delivery portion 20 delivering an optical fiber cable 1 to an outer periphery of the pipe 2 fed by the winch 10; and a motor 30 making the delivery portion 20 relatively rotate around the pipe 2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
