FURNACE CORE TUBE COMPOSITION, FURNACE CORE TUBE, AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING FURNACE CORE TUBE
To provide a furnace core tube composition from which a furnace core tube superior in strength, thermal shock resistance, and low thermal conductivity can be obtained; a furnace core tube made of the furnace core tube composition; and a method of manufacturing the furnace core tube with high working efficiency.SOLUTION: A furnace core tube composition to be used for centrifugal molding includes: aggregate particles consisting of ceramic A particles having specific gravity of 2.4-2.8 and a particle diameter of smaller than 3.5 mm and ceramic B particles having specific gravity 2.7-3.4 and a particle diameter of 100 μm or smaller; and a binding agent consisting of ceramic C particles. A furnace core tube is manufactured by centrifugal molding and includes cordierite particles and mullite particles, in which the cordierite particles and the mullite particles are integrally constituted. A method of manufacturing the furnace core tube comprises the steps of: mixing and kneading the furnace core tube composition to obtain a mixed/kneaded material; casing the mixed/kneaded material into a cylindrical molding die and performing centrifugal molding to obtain an uncured molded product; curing the uncured molded product while retaining the product in the molding die to obtain a cured molded product; and releasing and drying the cured molded product.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
