The approved actions of the District of Columbia neighborhood development program for the 14th Street urban renewal area include the designation of land for acquisition, clearance, redevelopment and development for public uses and open space facilities; and the designation of land containing approximately 498 buildings out of a total of 2,786 for rehabilitation. Adverse environmental effects include the disruption and displacement of existing households; an increased demand of the existing water supply and storm/sanitary sewer facilities, and traffic impacts.
