Reliability of Underground Flood Control System
The reliability of an underground hydraulic engineering system, which is characterized by both resistance and loading being random, is estimated. This system consists of a mine water control system in which failure may be caused either by excessive underground inrushes (or floods) or by equipment breakdown. The failure probability, which is the complement of reliability, is estimated by a combination of failure tree analysis and simulation. The estimated reliabilities appear to agree well with experimental observations.
