Research project concerned with problems arising in ventilating of wards which was conducted by Hospital Engineering Research Unit of University of Glasgow, Scotland is described; experimental ward is single-story building of new "race-track" type; scale model was used during design of ventilating and air conditioning plant for ward unit; plant room is situated on top of ward building and contains 4 air supply systems and 7 extract systems.
