Description of pile foundation of pier built by Turkish Government at Gulf of Alexandretta; Braithwaite type piles of reinforced concrete are pour-in-place and are equipped with special helical tip and screwed into hard sand bottom; piles are composed of reinforced concrete tip, 4 ft long and about 37 in. in diam, steel screw, and 1/8-in. steel pipe shell, horizontally corrugated, that serves as form for concrete.
