Dam is being constructed 45 mi southwest of Hardin, Mont; design calls for concrete arch structure 520 ft high above foundation and 1450 ft long at crest; powerhouse will generate 200,000 kw with 4 Francis-type turbines; construction schedule involves tunnel work for arch dam, with total of 7 tunnels being bored for various purposes such as construction of spillway tunnel, diversion tunnel, and other tunnels.
