Cracks in prestressed concrete and causes of their formation
Analysis of stresses and strains in slab and beam structure caused by temperature differences during setting of concrete; means of preventing cracking are discussed, among them selection of proper cross section, partial prestressing, and removal of heat developed during setting by means of pipes embedded in concrete and cooled by forced air circulation.
