Floating concrete bridge at Hobart
Brief description of bridge to span River Derwent in Tasmania; it is not carried straight across river, but follows circular arc with convex face presented upstream; total length, including lifting span and approaches, is 4000 ft, floating roadway being 3168 ft long, consisting of 24 reinforced concrete pontoons connected rigidly in two sections, of 12 pontoons each.
