(Figure 1) The present invention provides an electrically insulated spigot for pool fencing and a method of making the same. In one form, the spigot includes a base configured to be secured to a support surface; a pair of retention arms extending from the base for receiving at least one fencing panel therebetween; and an electrically insulating coating applied to at least an exposed surface of the base and the arms and adhered thereon so as to form an electrically insulating barrier on at least the exposed surface.
