The invention relates to a process for preparing a high-performance polycarboxylic acid type water-reducing agent by combined macromonomers at normal temperature and belongs to the technical field of concrete additives. The process includes mixing isopentenyl polyoxyethylene ether which are of different molecular weights 4000, 2400 and 1200 with water at normal temperature, stirring to dissolve isopentenyl polyoxyethylene ether to obtain an aqueous solution of macromonomer mixture, adding hydrogen peroxide into the aqueous solution of the macromonomer mixture to achieve oxidization; dropping a material A which is mixed by acrylic acid and water and a material B which is mixed by mercaptopropionic acid, vitamin C and water into the aqueous solution, preserving heat after finishing dropping, and finally adding alkali liquid for neutralization to obtain the high-performance polycarboxylic acid type water-reducing agent. According to preparation of the high-performance polycarboxylic acid type water-reducing agent, problems of reaction complexity, long reaction time, high requirement for reaction conditions of the prior art are solved. The high-performance polycarboxylic acid type water-reducing agent has the advantages of no need of heat sources, simple processing and short synthetic time, further has stable performance and can be applied to major projects of railway, bridge and water conservancy projects and various general projects widespreadly.
