A preparation method of hydrogel based on spodumene ore slag relates to the technical field of material preparation. The method includes the following steps: 1) performing a hydrothermal reaction to the spodumene ore slag and strong alkali to extract a spodumene extraction from the spodumene ore slag; and 2) adding an acid to regulate the pH to 7-9, so that sodium silicate and sodium metaaluminate are reacted to generate aluminosilicate complexes at maximum, which are condensed then to generate the hydrogel. The preparation method is convenient to carry out, is energy-saving and environment-protective and is simple in process. The spodumene ore slag is sourced from industrial solid waste residue generated through extraction of lithium carbonate by spodumene in industry. The method turns waste into resources and is low in raw material cost. The prepared hydrogel has certain elasticity and is in a solid status.
