A light ceramic tile using furnace slag and waste materials as main materials comprises a ceramic tile green body and glaze. The ceramic tile green body mainly comprises, by weight percentage, 30-50% of furnace slag, 10-24% of clay, 1-3% of Tangxian soil, 15-22% of feldspar, 20-24% of squeezed mud and recycled materials (waste materials) and 1-5% of grinding head powder. The chemical components of the main materials of the ceramic tile green body include, by weight percentage, 62.38-67.64% of SiO2, 18.81-22.2% of Al2O3, 2.1-4.0% of Fe2O3, 0.44-0.57% of TiO2, 1.61-3.36% of CaO, 1.23-2.43% of MgO, 2.01-2.46% of K2O and 1.80-2.61% of Na2O. A production method of the light ceramic tile includes: purchasing raw materials, setting the formula, preparing materials and ball milling to obtain slurry, aging the slurry, sieving to remove iron, spray drying to obtain powder, aging the powder, conveying the powder, distributing for formation, drying, applying glaze, printing, sintering, polishing edges, grading, packaging and storing. The light ceramic tile and the production method thereof have the advantages that energy is saved, emission is reduced, and the ceramic tile is good in performance index.
