The invention relates to a construction method used for an underground space below an existing road. The method comprises the following steps that a construction area is determined; pile holes are dugin the road surface within the construction area; pile foundations are driven into every pile hole in sequence; the road surface within the construction area is disassembled; prefabricated slabs arelaid in the construction area and are fixedly connected with the pile foundations; fillers in the area formed by the pile foundations and the prefabricated slabs are removed; load bearing walls, floors and roofs are fabricated based on the pile foundations; and the road surface is repaired based on the prefabricated slabs. The construction method is used for construction of the underground space in cities, and the holding time of the construction process to the ground can be shortened as much as possible.
