The building mortar comprises the following components in parts by weight: 40 parts of cement; 30 parts of coal gangue; 18 parts of bentonite fine powder; 4 parts of a mortar activator; and 8 parts of glass fiber powder; the coal gangue is naturally orartificially combusted coal gangue; wherein the bentonite fine powder is sodium bentonite fine powder; the process comprises the following steps: S1, preparing raw materials; S2, feeding the raw material; S3, mixing the raw materials. The phenomenon that when dry-mixed mortar is poured into an aqueous solution to form a mortar solvent, the mixed dry-mixed mortar is dispersed by the aqueous solution due to poor adsorption cohesiveness after mixing of the dry-mixed mortar, the mutual cohesiveness between building mortar is affected, the anti-cracking and anti-seepage effects are achieved, and the service life of the building mortar is prolonged is effectively prevented.
