The invention discloses a traffic guidance system and method for an intersection under an urban viaduct. The traffic guidance system comprises a plurality of left-turn guide bricks, a first left-turnsignal brick, a left-turn arrow brick and a microcontroller; the plurality of left-turn guide bricks are arranged along the diversion line of a left-turn waiting region; the first left-turn signal brick is arranged on the front side of the left-turn stop line of the left-turn waiting area; the light-emitting color of the first left-turn signal brick is synchronous with the light-emitting color ofa left-turn lamp in motor vehicle signal lamps; the left-turn arrow brick is arranged in the left-turn waiting area; the input end of the microcontroller is electrically connected with the motor vehicle signal lamps; and the output end of the microcontroller is electrically connected with the left-turn guide bricks, the first left-turn signal brick and the left-turn arrow brick. According to the traffic guidance system and method for the intersection under the urban viaduct of the invention, the left-turn waiting area of a dark area formed by the shielding of the surface of the viaduct at theintersection is lightened, so that motor vehicles can be guided to pass through the left-turn waiting area, the situation that a motor vehicle driver collides with a bridge pier or a safety island used for isolating the bridge pier due to the fact that the motor vehicle driver cannot see the diversion line clearly can be effectively prevented, and traffic safety is improved.
