The invention discloses cement mortar and a preparation method thereof.The method comprises the following steps that S1, graphene oxide is put into water for wave dispersion to prepare a dispersion liquid; S2, under stirring, adding basalt fibers into the dispersion liquid, and continuously stirring and mixing under the condition of keeping the rotating speed unchanged, so as to obtain a mixed solution of graphene oxide and basalt fibers; S3, carrying out heat treatment on the mixed solution of the graphene oxide and the basalt fibers to obtain graphene basalt fibers; and S4, adding the graphene basalt fibers prepared in the step S3 into a stirring pot, then adding sand, cement, a polycarboxylate superplasticizer, potassium aluminosilicate, an anethene-maleic anhydride copolymer, calcium lysine phosphate and chromium trichloride hexahydrate, and performing heating and stirring to obtain the cement mortar. The compressive strength and flexural strength of a mortar test piece prepared from the cement mortar are obviously superior to those of a mortar test piece prepared in the prior art.
