The invention provides an underground parking station and a construction method thereof. The underground parking station is constructed below a surface highway and comprises a tunnel, a vertical shaftand a transverse channel, wherein the tunnel comprises tunnel segments, tunnel highways and a platform, tunnel spaces are formed by being enclosed by the tunnel segments, and the tunnel highways arelocated in the tunnel spaces; the platform is located in one tunnel space and abuts against one side of the corresponding tunnel highway; the vertical shaft comprises an enclosing wall and passing stairways, and a vertical shaft space is formed by being enclosed by the enclosing wall and can lead to the surface highway; and the transverse channel comprises lining walls and ring frame beams, a transverse through hole is formed in the position, abutting against the platform, of one tunnel segment, the ring frame beams are supported at the transverse through hole, and a transverse through hole isformed by being enclosed by the lining walls and the ring frame beams and communicates with one tunnel space and the vertical shaft space. According to the underground parking station, the platform is arranged in the tunnel, so that when the underground parking station is constructed, the open cut method is not adopted, the space of the surface highway is not occupied, the traffic fluffing is notneeded, and the normal operation of the surface highway is not affected.
