The invention provides a building vibration suppression and energy recovery device based on electromagnetic damping. The device comprises a base plate, elastic parts and a power generating part. The base plate is arranged on a building, and the power generating part is provided with fixed portions and movable portions which relatively move to be used for electromagnetic induction power generation.The fixed portions are fixedly arranged on the base plate, the movable portions are slidingly arranged on the base plate, one ends of the elastic parts are fixed, the other ends of the elastic partsare connected with the movable portions to supply elastic force for resetting the movable portions, in the repeated vibration process of the building, the elastic parts are repeatedly compressed and lengthened, the movable portions also reciprocate, the elastic force of the elastic parts supplies vibration reverse-direction force to the building, thus, the purpose of vibration attenuation is achieved, and friction generated in the movement process of the movable portions also consumes part of vibration energy; and in the repeated vibration process of the movable portions, the movable portionsand the fixed portions are repeatedly staggered to generate electromagnetic induction to generate currents, the vibration energy is converted into electric energy for recovery, and good practicality is achieved.
