The embodiment of the invention discloses a split type cable detecting device which can realize quick inspection on a main cable, further can realize all-around, comprehensive and high-efficiency detection on the main cable, and further improves safety and greatly reduces detection difficulty. The split type main cable detecting device is used for detecting the main cable, and comprises a tractionrobot, an exoskeleton and a traction assembly; the traction robot is anchored to the top ends of two supporting rods; the first end of the traction assembly is connected to the traction robot, and the second end of the traction assembly is connected to the exoskeleton; the traction robot moves along a handrail rope assembly under first drive force, and the traction assembly drives the exoskeletonto move along the main cable and the handrail rope assembly while the traction robot is anchored at the top ends of the two supporting rods after moving along the handrail rope assembly.
