The invention discloses lightweight aggregate concrete and a preparation method thereof, belongs to the technical field of concrete preparation, and is characterized in that the aggregate concrete isprepared from the following components in parts by weight: 900-1160 parts of ceramsite, 600-780 parts of fine sand; 310-380 parts of cement; 8.5-10.2 parts of a water reducing agent; 230-285 parts ofa mineral admixture; 135-165 parts of water; 9-12 parts of reinforcing fibers; and 2.8-3.4 parts of sodium alginate. The mineral admixture comprises the following components in parts by weight: 80-100parts of fly ash; 110-130 parts of mineral powder; and 40-55 parts of silica fume. According to the scheme, the lightweight aggregate concrete with high structural strength is prepared.
