The invention relates to the technical field of guardrails, and discloses a bilateral pushing type intermittent opening and closing guardrail which comprises a main plate, a driving cavity and an access channel. Push plates are arranged at the positions, close to the left side wall and the right side wall of the main plate, of the access channel, transverse connecting rods are fixedly installed onthe upper portions and the lower portions of the side walls, away from the main plate, of the push plates, and the tail ends of the connecting rods extend to buffer cavities fixed to the ground. A group of main control rods with rectangular structures are arranged on the front side wall of the main plate; the bottom end of the main control rod is rotatably connected with a set of fixing blocks fixed to the bottom in the driving cavity through rotating blocks, an upper sliding groove penetrating front and back is formed in the upper side of the main control rod, a lower sliding groove penetrating front and back is formed in the lower side of the main control rod, and an upper sliding block and a lower sliding block are slidably connected into the upper sliding groove and the lower slidinggroove correspondingly. The middle of the upper sliding block is backwards and rotatably connected to the sliding rod, and a set of steering grooves of a triangular structure are downwards formed in the middle of a sliding opening in the rear side wall of the main plate.
