The invention provides porous nitride ceramic and a preparation method thereof, and belongs to the technical field of preparation of porous ceramic. The preparation method of the porous nitride ceramic comprises the following steps: mixing oxide powder, resin, an amine organic compound and a solvent to obtain slurry; dipping a porous organic template in the slurry, taking out and drying to obtain the dipped template; placing the dipped template in an inert gas environment to carry out degreasing reaction on an organic matter to obtain a ceramic precursor; and sintering the ceramic precursor in an inert gas environment to obtain the porous nitride ceramic. In the preparation process, the resin and the amine organic compound provide a carbon source and a nitrogen source through degreasing pyrolysis reaction and react with the oxide powder to obtain the nitride ceramic, molding and preparation of the ceramic material are completed in one step, and other sintering aids do not need to be added.
