The invention discloses a cabinet door safety interlocking device and method for a frequency converter cabinet. The device comprises an equipment two-dimensional code disposed on the peripheral surface of the frequency converter cabinet, a security assembly which is disposed at a cabinet door and is in communication connection with the equipment two-dimensional code, and a lock control assembly which is in communication connection with the security assembly and the equipment two-dimensional code; the equipment two-dimensional code is used for providing a special portal for cabinet door opening and closing application and recording an operation log of the opening and closing of the cabinet door.
