The invention relates to a rotary drum type outer rotor motor direct-drive channel gate device which comprises an outer rotor motor, a rotary drum flashboard assembly and an electromagnet assembly; theouter rotor motor comprisesan inner rotor assembly and an outer rotor assembly, the inner rotor assembly is fixedly arranged, and the outer rotor assembly is connected with a rotary drum gate assembly; the rotary drum flashboard assembly is driven by the outer rotor assembly to rotate so as to drive a flashboard to do gate opening and closing motion; and the electromagnet assembly is suitable for locking the outer rotor assembly. A debugging method of the channel gate device comprises gate opening debugging and gate closing debugging. The channel gate is free of a speed reducer and gear abrasion, large in driving torque of the outer rotor motor, high in specific power, simple and compact in structure, lower in fault rate, ultralow in noise, easy to maintain, lower in cost, short in transmission chain, higher in efficiency and longer in service life, and therefore the operation reliability of the gate is improved.
