The invention relates to a formwork supporting system and a construction method thereof. The formwork supporting system comprises a plurality of first grid units, a plurality of second grid units and a plurality of telescopic pieces, wherein the plurality of first grid units is attached to the bottom surface of a formwork, and the side edge parts of the first grid units protrude outwards so as to form protruding parts; the plurality of second grid units are attached to the bottom surface of the formwork, the first grid units and the second grid units are arranged at intervals, the side parts of the second grid units are sunken inwards corresponding to the protruding parts so as to form sunken parts, and the first grid units are fixedly connected with the second grid units, so that the protruding parts can be correspondingly connected with the sunken parts, and the connecting positions of the first grid units and the second grid units are nonlinear; and the length of the telescopic pieces can be adjusted, and the telescopic pieces are used for supporting the first grid units and the second grid units. According to the formwork supporting system, the problems of high cost and large loss are effectively solved, and the formwork is supported by the grid type supporting system, so that the loss rate is reduced, the environment-friendly construction requirement can be met, the turnover rate is high, the construction cost is reduced, and the construction quality is guaranteed.
