The invention discloses a shock absorption and noise reduction device for a highway bridge in the technical field of highway bridge equipment. The device comprises a cross beam body, a rack, a supporting rod and an expanding mechanism. The racks are installed on the outer wall of the cross beam body, and the racks on the left side and the right side are arranged in a staggered mode. An expanding mechanism is mounted between the bottoms of the inner cavities of the two groups of cross beam bodies; a protection assembly is installed between the top end of the supporting rod and the outer wall of the bottom of the rack. Through cooperation of a sliding block, a sliding groove and a rotating shaft of the protection assembly, the supporting rod can rotate and slide below the rack, and the rack cannot provide leftward pushing force for the supporting rod in the process that the rack is pressed to move downwards. Therefore, the supporting rod is prevented from being bent easily due to fixed connection of the supporting rod and the rack, normal use of the opening mechanism is guaranteed, and the damping and noise reduction effects of the device are guaranteed.
