The invention discloses a drainage device and method for a construction site. The drainage device comprises a base plate, an air bag floating ring is arranged at the bottom of the base plate, the base plate is connected with a transmission gear ring through a control part, the transmission gear ring is connected with supporting arc-shaped plates distributed on the periphery of the base plate through a lead screw transmission assembly, supporting rod assemblies for auxiliary supporting are connected with the inner walls of the supporting arc-shaped plates, and a water suction pump is arranged in the center of the base plate. The air bag floating ring is arranged at the bottom of the base plate, when drainage is carried out on a foundation pit, buoyancy of the air bag floating ring can support the device, the water suction pump arranged on the base plate cannot make contact with silt at the bottom of the foundation pit, so that the water suction pump is prevented from being blocked by the silt, and the drainage effect is ensured; and when accumulated water in the foundation pit is continuously discharged out, the base plate moves downwards continuously, when the base plate moves, the supporting arc-shaped plates arranged on the periphery of the base plate and cutting protection plates can protect soil on the inner wall of the foundation pit after drainage, and the situation that the inner wall of the foundation pit collapses is effectively avoided.
