The invention discloses a floating type emergency oil tank for an offshore booster station and an installation method of the floating type emergency oil tank. The offshore booster station comprises an emergency oil tank (1), a bottom deck (6), four pile foundations (9) penetrating through the bottom deck (6), a main transformer (7) and a radiator (8), wherein the main transformer (7) and the radiator (8) are arranged on the bottom deck (6). The emergency oil tank (1) is arranged on the sea level below the bottom deck (6) and connected with a radiator oil storage pit (22) and a main transformer oil storage pit (21) through flexible oil guide pipes (3). The buoyancy of the accident oil tank can be fully utilized, the accident oil tank originally arranged on an offshore booster station is arranged on the sea level below the bottom deck in a floating mode, the bearing capacity of the pile foundation can be reduced by about 40 tons, the accident oil tank can be directly hauled and replaced by a new accident oil tank after the main transformer is subjected to accident oil injection, the maintenance and operation time is saved by about 1 day, and the maintenance efficiency is improved. The height of the pile foundation can be reduced by about 2m.
