The invention discloses a rectangular energy dissipation well for reducing water flow energy. The rectangular energy dissipation well is characterized by comprising a water inlet pipe, a well chamber, turbulent flow prismatic tables and a water outlet pipe; the well chamber comprises a first chamber and a second chamber; the first chamber and the second chamber are separated by arranging an overflow weir; turbulent flow prismatic tables are arranged on the bottom surface and the side wall close to the bottom surface of the first cavity; a grid plate connected to the inner wall of the first cavity is arranged between the upper end of the turbulent flow prismatic table and the top end of the overflow weir; a top cover is arranged at the top of the first chamber; the water inlet pipe penetrates into the grid plate from the side wall of the first chamber and extends into the bottom of the first chamber; and the second chamber is communicated with a water outlet pipe. According to the energy dissipation well, the turbulent flow prismatic table, the turbulent flow plate and the grid plate are arranged in the energy dissipation well, so that water flow violently rolls in the energy dissipation well, the water flow obtains a large energy dissipation effect, and then the water flow overflows to the drainage channel to be stably discharged.
