The invention discloses a production process of an environment-friendly magnesium oxysulfate material and a magnesium oxysulfate board. The invention relates to a production process of an environment-friendly magnesium oxysulfate material. The production process comprises the following steps: preparing light calcined magnesium oxide with the active magnesium oxide content of 60-80wt%; adding sulfuric acid into the black liquor obtained by the sulfate pulping method to adjust the pH value until the pH value is less than or equal to 3, and adding light calcined magnesia to prepare a magnesium sulfate solution; when the magnesium sulfate solution is adjusted to a proper concentration, adding the light calcined magnesia and the modifier again to prepare magnesium oxysulfate slurry; wherein the modifying agent comprises a water reducing agent, chelating resin taking nitrogen as a coordination atom, a dispersing agent and a waterproof agent, and the prepared magnesium oxysulfate material has excellent water resistance and mechanical properties by adjusting the material ratio of the light calcined magnesia, the modifying agent and the magnesium sulfate solution which are fed twice.
