The invention relates to a method for enhancing the catalytic performance of a silicon carbide film material through acid etching. According to the method, the catalytic performance of the SiC film material can be remarkably enhanced only by immersing the SiC film material in an acid solution for a certain time and then drying the SiC film material. According to the method, the characteristic of acid corrosion resistance of the SiC film material is utilized, so that an acid solution only etches catalytic components in the SiC film material, and the structure of the SiC film material is not damaged. The SiC catalytic membrane subjected to acid etching can efficiently intercept dust and catalytically degrade gas-phase pollutants such as nitrogen oxides and VOCs, and has a wide application prospect in the field of air pollution control.
