The invention relates to a nuclear power plant cold source safety system. Comprising a marine organism monitoring subsystem which is arranged in a set range of a water intake of a nuclear power plant and is used for detecting the aggregation state of marine organisms; the progressive trash holding net subsystem is arranged in the water taking open channel and comprises a first trash holding net, a second trash holding net and a third trash holding net; and the tension monitoring subsystem comprises a tension monitoring module which is arranged on at least one trash holding net main cable and is used for monitoring the running state of the trash holding net. The cold source safety of the nuclear power plant can be further improved, and marine organisms are better prevented from blocking the water intake of the nuclear power plant.
