The invention discloses an intelligent monitoring geogrid and a preparation method thereof, and belongs to the technical field of side slope safety, the intelligent monitoring geogrid comprises a geogrid body, the geogrid body comprises criss-cross fiber strips, and temperature monitoring assemblies are embedded in the transverse and longitudinal fiber strips at equal intervals; the temperature monitoring assembly comprises a temperature sensor and a wireless sensing control chip which are connected with each other. The preparation method comprises the following steps: firstly, pre-paving fiber tows; then, the fiber bundles are coated with resin colloid, and secondary coating is carried out after curing; and finally, after the secondary resin colloid is cured, the temperature sensor and the wireless sensing control chip with the wrapping layer are embedded into the fiber bundle, mold closing, maintenance and mold removal are conducted, and the geogrid is formed. The temperature difference received by the temperature sensor can obtain the part with abnormal temperature, namely the part with leakage, and the temperature signal can be transmitted in a wireless transmission mode through the wireless sensing control chip, so that a large number of leads are saved, and the construction cost is saved.
