The invention provides a bridge inspection vehicle and a bridge inspection method, and relates to the technical field of bridge inspection. The bridge inspection vehicle comprises a vehicle frame, and a walking device, a controller and a detection unit which are arranged on the vehicle frame; the frame comprises a main frame, a movable frame and a first driving mechanism. The walking device is used for driving the main frame to walk on the bottom face of a bridge in the bridge direction. The first driving mechanism is used for driving the movable frame to move relative to the main frame so as to adjust the length of the frame in the transverse bridge direction, and the minimum value of the length is smaller than the width of a hole between piers in the transverse bridge direction; the detection unit is used for detecting the bridge, and detection data of the detection unit comprises bottom surface data based on the bottom surface of the bridge and further comprises relative position data of the frame and the bridge pier in the bridge direction; the controller is in communication connection with the detection unit, the first driving mechanism and the walking device. The bridge inspection device can quickly inspect the bridge and is high in efficiency.
