The invention discloses a manufacturing process of a foamed cement aerated block for buildings, which is characterized in that the foamed cement aerated block comprises the following materials: sand, silicon-containing tailings, a foaming agent (aluminum powder), a calcium material (lime and cement), fly ash and the balance of water. The fineness modulus of the sand ranges from 2.3 mm to 3.7 mm, and the silt content of the river channel sand or the mountain sand is controlled to be smaller than or equal to 5%; the silicon content of the silicon-containing tailings is 85% or above, the silt content is controlled to be smaller than or equal to 3%, and the particle size ranges from 0.001 mm to 1 mm; the materials are mixed and poured into a mold to form blocks. The method is simple to operate, convenient to construct, short in construction period and high in compressive strength, the building material with a good heat preservation effect can be prepared by adopting the method, mine waste and solid waste discharged by a coal-fired power plant are effectively utilized, energy conservation and environmental protection are achieved, the purpose of resource recycling is achieved, clay resources are saved, and environmental pollution and carbon emission caused by brick firing are reduced.
