The invention relates to the technical field of heat-insulating bricks, in particular to a development method of a novel machine-made mullite heat-insulating brick, which is simple in process, reduces the density and the heat conductivity, improves the heat-insulating effect and the strength value, and does not become a bottleneck limiting the development and the use of the heat-insulating brick any more. Comprising the following steps: S1, preparing the following raw materials: main materials: mullite, flint clay clinker, andalusite, aluminum oxide, calcium oxide, zirconium oxide, yttrium oxide, magnesium oxide and silicon dioxide; the auxiliary materials comprise water, a water reducing agent, a foaming agent, a gelling agent, a coagulation accelerator and a thermosetting high-molecular compound; s2, mixing the main material, water and a water reducing agent, and stirring to form slurry; and S3, adding foam prepared from a foaming agent into the slurry, uniformly stirring, adding a gelling agent, a coagulation accelerator and a thermosetting high-molecular compound, uniformly stirring, molding by casting, drying, demolding, baking, heating and preserving heat to obtain the heat-insulating brick.
