The method comprises the steps that under the condition that the excavator is in an abnormal state, the bucket pressure of a bucket is obtained; under the condition that no material exists in the bucket according to the bucket pressure, the machine body is controlled to rotate to the angle parallel to the walking device; and each working device is controlled to execute the corresponding action, so that the excavator is reset to the preset safety posture. According to the technical scheme, when the processor determines that the excavator is in the abnormal state, the machine body and the working device of the excavator are automatically adjusted, so that the excavator enters a stable and safe state, and danger of the excavator is avoided.
