The invention discloses high-strength low-viscosity thickening type self-compacting concrete and a preparation method thereof, and the concrete is prepared from the following components in parts by weight: 380 to 570 parts of cement, 210 to 300 parts of viscosity-reducing thickening type composite admixture, 550 to 710 parts of fine aggregate, 870 to 950 parts of coarse aggregate, 140 to 160 parts of mixing water and 12 to 17 parts of admixture, the viscosity-reducing and thickening composite admixture is formed by mixing silica fume, mineral powder, microbeads and superfine sand according to a certain proportion, and the admixture comprises a common polycarboxylic acid water reducing agent and a slow-release water reducing agent with release peak values different in time. The slump expansion degree of the high-strength low-viscosity thickening type self-compacting concrete can reach 750 mm or above, the expansion time T500 is controlled within 5 s, the slump retaining time is longer than 4 h, the viscosity is smaller than or equal to 35 Pa.s, and the compressive strength is larger than 100 MPa.
