The invention discloses a bridge pier column construction method. A pier body reinforcement cage is arranged at the designated position of a bearing platform; the formwork qualified in trial splicing is coated with cement paste, the cement paste is polished and cleaned after being dried, and the steps are repeated till the flatness of the formwork meets the preset flatness requirement; brushing a release agent on the surface of the template by adopting a roller brush sleeved with a uniform net-shaped fabric, covering a film for standing after the release agent reaches a preset drying degree, and repeating the steps until the smoothness of a surface release agent layer of the template meets a preset smoothness requirement; template fasteners are fixed on the pier body reinforcement cage according to the positioning intervals; the formworks are installed in the sequence from bottom to top and fixed through formwork fasteners; and the pier body reinforcement cage is subjected to concrete pouring. By optimizing all procedures in bridge pier column construction, the flatness and smoothness of the bridge pier column are better, and the mirror surface effect of the bridge pier column is achieved.
