A gypsum calcining machine comprises a body provided with a calcining chamber and an air supply chamber, the calcining chamber is located above the air supply chamber, a communicating section is arranged between the calcining chamber and the air supply chamber, and a second opening is formed in the lower portion of the air supply chamber; the air distribution plate is mounted on the communicating section, is provided with an opening position and a closing position, and is arranged to cut off the communicating section on the basis of the closing position and open the communicating section on the basis of the opening position; and the discharging device is arranged at the second opening and is arranged to close the second opening or discharge impurities. When solid impurities are deposited on the air distribution plate, calcined gypsum raw materials in the calcining chamber are discharged firstly, and then the air distribution plate is controlled to move from the closed position to the open position to open the communicating section, so that the solid impurities on the air distribution plate fall into the air supply chamber under the action of gravity; then the discharging device is controlled to discharge solid impurities in the air supply chamber, the air distribution plate is controlled to move from the opening position to the closing position to close the communication section, and after the solid impurities are completely discharged, the discharging device is controlled to close the second opening, so that the gypsum calcining machine can be normally started and operated again. The solid impurity cleaning process is time-saving, labor-saving and low in difficulty.
