The lotus root detecting and silt flushing device comprises a ship body, a detecting mechanism and a silt flushing mechanism. The detection mechanism comprises a lifting frame, a lifting device for driving the lifting frame to lift, a plurality of detection rods connected to the lifting frame in a lifting manner and a circuit board arranged at the top of the lifting frame, and sensing elements in one-to-one correspondence with the detection rods are arranged on the circuit board; when the lifting frame descends, the detection rods are driven to descend to be inserted into sludge in water, so that lotus roots in the sludge push the tops of the corresponding detection rods to abut against the corresponding sensing elements to send signals to position the positions and shapes of the lotus roots; the silt flushing mechanism comprises flushing channels and water pumps which are arranged in the detection rods correspondingly, the bottoms of the flushing channels communicate with the bottoms of the corresponding detection rods, and the water pumps selectively convey water to the flushing channels through a water conveying mechanism. The lotus root detecting and silt flushing device and method can quickly and efficiently position lotus roots and remove silt around the lotus roots, the lotus root collecting efficiency is improved, and the working intensity is reduced.
